Frequently Asked Questions:

1.    Why do the competitors' slippers have a strong odor?
If your slippers are emitting a strong odor it is a clear sign that the slippers are produced from recycled material.  The strong odor is from the toxic chemicals used to process recycled PVC trash material and tends to get stronger as the material breaks down.  Additionally, recylced PVC usually contain high levels of lead and harmful carcinogens. Our slippers are made from virgin which do not have a strong odor and safer to the user and the environment.

2.     Why do the competitors' slippers stain the bottom of our spa client's feet and your carpets?
This is another indication that your slippers are produced with recycled material.  Because of all the toxic chemicals used to recycle the PVC material true color pigmentation cannot be used to produce color slippers.  Recycled material can only be either gray or black in color.  In order to get a color of choice from recycled PVC the slippers are spray painted.  The color on the bottom of your spa client's feet is the paint coming off due to massage oils.  If you cut a slipper in half you will see 2 different colors in a recycled PVC slipper.  Slippers made with virgin recyclable PVC material is the same color throughout and would not stain your clients' feet and your carpets. Our slippers are not painted and the color pigments are throughout the slippers' molecular process.

3.     Is there a 1 or 2 size-fit-all slipper?
For proper fitting and comfort, it is impossible to have a one size fit all slipper.  Feet come in different shapes, widths, and sizes.  Slippers that are not properly fitted can be a tripping hazard and feel uncomfortable which results in an unsatisfactory spa experience.

4.     Does a Velcro enclosure strap work for our spa?
Velcro closure straps are glued onto the slipper vamps (strap).  In time the glue will wear thin due to the constant washing and disinfecting of everyday usage causing the Velcro to become undone.  Without the Velcro closure the slippers are render useless.

5.     What is the durability of a Velcro enclosure?
Another durability issue is with everyday usage the constant opening and closing of the Velcro closure stretches out the tiny hooks which causes the Velcro to loose its holding power.  This is a problem which has been known to cause accidents.

6.     Is the Velcro fabric sanitary?

7.     How come the competitors' logos come off quite easily after only 2 weeks?
Since the slippers you purchase are customized with your logo to promote your brand and image, your logo process should be sharp and durable.

There are 2 common processes for printing logos:
1) Screen printing is the most durable and will last quite a long time before it begins to fade.  Screen printing can only be achieved on a totally flat printing surface and is specialized for synthetic materials.
2) Pad printing is not very durable and can be completed on an irregular shape or surface.  Your logo coming off easily is due to the easy pad printing done on your slipper.

We use a special screen printing process for PVC so that the logos are durable.

8.    What is the maximum number of colors you can logo print?
Screen printing can achieve up to 8 colors with perfect registration of details.
Pad printing can only achieve maximum 2 colors.

9.     What is the yellowish color developing in the competitors' slippers over time?
The yellowish color is due to the recycled chemicals in the PVC breaking down with time. Since our slippers are made with quality virgin PVC, you will not have this problem with ours.

10.  What is the sticky oily substance developing in the competitors' slippers over time?
The sticky oily substance developing on your slipper is due to the high level of petroleum-based additives (usually toxic, containing high levels of lead and carcinogens) needed to soften the recycled material to re-fabricate. The additives will bleead out as the recycled material becomes stiff and brittle. The recycled material cannot be recycled again and becomes a toxic hazard to the environment

11.  How come the competitors' slippers are hard and uncomfortable?
Recycled material is very stiff and brittle. Since the spa is about wellness, it would be an added value to provide slippers that have a combination of style, comfort, and function. Functionality can include luxurious comfort but may be offset by the inability to be used in wet areas such as fabric slippers. Other functionality can include massaging or reflexology benefits but may be offset by pain or discomfort of hard and incorrectly placed bumps which can be compared to having acupressure constantly applied - this would hurt anyone.

12.  What is your delivery leadtime?
When encountering a leadtime of several weeks, it is a sign the slippers are custom manufactured to order. This ensures proper production in all stages and freshness. Quick deliveries mean you slippers have been stored in a warehouse for quick delivery. This does not tell you how long the delivered slippers have been stored. With any product, long storage leadtimes to product deterioration and problems asked in questions 9 and 10. It is strongly recommended to work with a supplier that has been in busines for several years with a strong reputation for ethics and reliability. the most popular supplier in the industry means a high turn over translating to freshness in manufactured inventory.

13. Why do we have such a difficult time in getting the right size for our clients when we tried the competitors' slippers?
Most other suppliers of footwear for the spa industry are based on European sizing which is different than U.S. standards and is usually not applied on the appropriate scale. Additionally, they are usually ladies sizes used to pass off as unisex sizes as they are not designed for men. We are also the only company offering larger sizes for men.

14. I thought massaging slippers are meant to massage but why do the competitors' massaging slippers hurt after wearing them for several minutes?
Other massaging sandals have bumps distributed around the footbed. They hurt because the bumps are had and constantly press on certain points in the foot that are supposed to be beneficial but, instead, they act as constant pressure similar to a hard knuckle massage applied constantly. Our Zendals massaging slippers were designed by masters of reflexology and chi energetics with the patented massaging circles, which apply an even distribution of soothing suction ("ying") and balanced acupressure ("yang") to the points in the soles of your feet, providing comfort and healthy stimulation with every step you take - a critical correction to those painful "bumps" of other massaging sandals.

15. Why do the foam disposable slippers rip so easily and hard to walk in?
Other disposable slippers are usually made of thin EVA foam which feels like paper. They are made thin to keep the cost down since they have become commoditized. This makes them easy to tear while walking and can only be worn for a short distance before tearing and becoming a hazard.

16. Is there an advantage of PVC slippers over terry cloth slippers?
The appropriate materials used for the Spas should be made of synthetic materials that do not absorb water for use in wet areas and does not promote bacterial growth for sanitary reasons.  The material should be durable washable for operations purposes.  Synthetic materials such as PVC is one of the most effective and economical for spa operations.
